Security

A comprehensive handout on security is available and should be supplied to all new residents. A copy can be printed using this link Security Handout. A summary of key security aspects is provided below.

Building Security

Building security at GPR is important and is effected through four levels of security. These are:

  1. key card access that allow residents entry to the foyer of their building and a remote control to open the car park gate;

  2. lifts are operated using the key card that allows access to the resident's apartment floor and to some of the common areas;

  3. visitor access is controlled from each apartment’s intercom system after a guest has called from the foyer intercom; and

  4. dead locks are fitted to all apartments.

Additionally, there are security cameras that cover all entrances and much of the under cover car parks.

Access Key Card

Once in the building, access to different levels is also controlled with the key card system. More specifically, the key card allow residents access to the building foyers, their own apartment floor, the under cover car parks, the central courtyard, and the gymnasium.

Car Park Remote

The Car Park Remote is a separate device that enables opening of the car park roller shutter. Remotes provide access to either the 1st floor or basement car park.

Issue of Key Cards, Garage Remotes and Apartment Keys
The Building Manager controls the issue of key cards, garage remotes and authorises the reproduction of duplicate keys. Any request for these items must be made in writing by the owners of the apartment or their authorised agent. Click this link to access the form.

Security Precautions

In the interest of maintaining the security of GPRs,

  • all residents and their guests must ensure that security doors are closed firmly after entering or leaving the building;

  • unknown or unauthorised persons must not be admitted to the building;

  • if locked out of the building, residents should make alternative arrangements, e.g. leaving an additional set of access keys with a friend or relative, as their are no arrangements to provide after hour’s access to residents; and

  • any faults with the security system and/or individual residents’ access cards should be reported to the Building Manager.
